Football Weigh-Ins
Before participating in any football games in the Burke County Youth Football League, every child’s weight must be verified by staff of the Burke County Parks and Recreation Department. Each year, the department schedules weigh-in dates at the R.O. Huffman Center located at 700 South Main Street in Drexel. This year, the initial dates have been set as follows:

On the appropriate date, please have your child at the R.O. Huffman Center 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time. Your child must have his or her ID present at the weigh-in (see below). After the weigh-ins are complete, your child’s team may or may not report back to Oak Hill for practice. Please check with your child’s coach.
If your child can not be present for the scheduled weigh-in, regular weigh-ins will start on Thursday, September 9th and continue on Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00 PM throughout the season. But remember, your child can not participate in any games until he or she has been properly weighed in.
ID REQUIREMENT
Before any child can participate in the Burke County Youth Football League, a record of the child’s age must be on file with the program for which the child will play. This record must be in the form of an approved photo ID which also indicates the child’s date of birth. Preferred ID’s include a state-issued ID card or a member’s card issued by a government medical plan or credit union (IE: the “FAT CAT” ID card issued by the Local Government Federal Credit Union). Alternatively, you may submit a copy of your child’s school ID. However, in most cases, these ID cards do not indicate a date of birth. As such, you would also need to submit a copy of your child’s birth certificate.

To obtain a state-issued ID card, two forms of ID and proof of age must be presented. Examples include:
1. Certified birth certificate
2. Original social security card
3. State-issued ID card from another state
*Other forms of ID may be accepted. Please call the Driver’s License Office for details
*It can take up to one week to receive the ID card by mail
*The cost for a state ID card is $10.00
Keep in mind that the ID you submit will need to remain on file with the Oak Hill Recreation Foundation for the duration of football season. Also, the ID will need to be presented during any weigh-in. Remember, your child can not participate in any games until we have an acceptable ID on file.
Please understand that these requirements are imposed by the Burke County Parks and Recreation Department to promote the safety of all involved. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
